CHAKRA MEDICINE : A HEALING JUNGLE JOURNEY
Mexico holds a special place in my heart for many reasons and I cannot wait to share this incredible space and experience with you.
A short bus ride beyond the hustle and bustle of Cancun, on the Yucatan Peninsula, you'll find yourself in the holistic haven of Tulum, Quintana Roo.
Beyond its hippy chic exterior, Tulum has been a safe and healing space for both Jessie and I over the last two years. There is a magic in this town that, beyond its hedonistic exterior, draws you in; A magical place where you can watch the natural flow of the universe and it's medicine unfold before you.
Ever since meeting Jessie in Portugal, we both knew that we wanted to combine our unique practices together, to create something of purpose that might help others in there own journey of self inquiry. Fast forward a few years of weaving in and out of cities and experiences of our own and this retreat, our offering to you, has been born.
As a group we will explore a beautiful part of this world and enjoy fun practices that offer light hearted challenges to boost your physical Yoga practice. Together, Jessie and I also aim to create a safe and supportive environment for you delve beyond the physical nature of Yoga and explore the phenomenon of our internal world and make up.
Each morning will begin with meditation and breath work to bring together a clear intention for the day ahead. Our morning yoga session will be a dynamic mandala vinyasa themed around the element, chakra and focus of the day. To compliment the morning's Yang focused practice, we will delve into a deeply healing and nourishing Yin practice in the evening.
CHAKRA THEORY + ADDITIONAL PRACTICES
The physical practice of yoga when related to the elements and energetic portals can bring forth many questions relating to our characteristics and pysche. Before our evening Yin practice we will come together for a daily lecture relating to the specific chakra we have been focusing on that day.
Yoga itself can be a deeply healing practice. Along with our physical asana practice, we will weave different therapies and traditional methods of detoxification and ceremony to help us find a sense of balance.
You'll find that just being in Tulum itself can bring about a real raw feeling of connection; connection to our outer world and the people in it, connection to our beautiful earth and all that nature has to offer and most importantly connection to ourselves. It is this connection that is a strong focus on this retreat.
I will be co hosting this retreat with the beautiful Jessie Mary. Jessie is an incredible light, who's passion and dedication to exploring our true nature is infectious. Over the years Jessie has studied and honed traditional practices, staying true to what has always felt natural to her own rhythm. She has created a successful business and fine tuned 121 and group healing programmes that merge together her crystal therapy, yin yoga and light work. Jessie teaches internationally and currently resides in Tulum, five minutes away from Holistika. She is an intuitive spirit with the biggest heart and I cannot wait for you to meet her.
I encourage you to take a look at Jessie's website for more information on what she offers from her crystal healing, intuitive energy cleansing and tarot reading, which she weaves naturally in to her 121 and group deep yin pr
The themes and practices that Jessie and I will guide you through are complimented with different excursions, ceremonies and outings. Along the way you will be guided by professional practitioners in a safe and supported environment.
TEMZACAL (SWEAT LODGE)
A Temazcal(i) is the name given to a traditional Mezo American cleansing practice and ritual. The literal translation or this Nuatl word would be 'sweat house' or 'house of heat.' It is a place that represents the womb of mother earth, where we unite to thank and give prayer to the Great Spirit and the divine. It is a sacred practice for many tribes across the Americas and has been used for thousands of years as a purification ritual and a cred way of connecting to out most ancestral knowledge. There are many physical and spiritual benefits to this practice and ceremony that you will discover.
Our time together will be rich in ceremony. Honouring traditional practices we have learnt as wel as the opportunity to celebrate and find gratitude for our time together. These ceremonies include a cacao ceremony, self love ceremony, fire ceremony and opening and closings ceremonies calling in the elements and the directions to guide us through our week together.
A cenote is a natural sinkhole resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. To submerge yourself in the cool and clean water of the cenotes is quite something and spending time in or around one of these natural phenomenons shows us just how powerful mother nature is in her ability to createor to destroy!
When thinking of Tulum, most people naturally gravitate towards its pristine white sands and its provocative blue waters. Just as inviting however, its its lush jungle and it is this side that we have chosen to house our retreat.
An incredible haven and holistic centre in the middle of the Mayan jungle, Holistika will be our home for the eight days of our retreat. Beautifully designed in both architecture and interior, this privately owned jungle retreat, has been specifically designed for all those who find their way here to live an immersive spiritual experience in this exotic playground.

Tierra Holistika is a place to feel at home. To relax and embrace the idealic environment around you, surrounded by nature. The menu is beautifully crafted by passionate Chefs, offering both Mexican and worldly tastes. A peaceful place to sit, be creative and inspired whilst enjoying incredible food prepared with love and served with pride.
The chef's at Tierra will prepare us a unique and specialised vegan/vegetarian menu that is inspired by the chakra in which we are working on that day.
We have also organised two trips outside Holistika, one dinner and one lunch at local restaurants preparing fresh and delicious food and drinks.
We have chosen to leave lunch off our schedule so you can choose when and where you wish to eat on your down time. Being a local, Jessie can recommend many different places for you to try out during your stay.
You are certainly in for a treat if you haven't yet tasted Mexican cuisine. Tulum is also very health conscious and you'll find most restaurants catering to a variety of dietary requirements.
