A beginner's guide to yoga, breathwork and meditation dedicated to helping you find confidence, clarity and balance in your practice and day to day life.
CURIOUS ABOUT STARTING YOGA AND NOT SURE WHERE TO START?
Beginning Tuesday 2nd February this live and on-demand online course is designed and dedicated to helping you find confidence, clarity and balance in your practice and day to day life.
Over a 6 week period, you will learn the foundational principles of a physical Yoga practice, as well as exploring other areas of this all-encompassing practice, such as philosophy, breathwork and meditation.
WHAT WILL I GET OUT OF THIS COURSE?
You will learn:
- The five ingredients to a vinyasa-based Yoga practice. (And what vinyasa actually means!)
- Foundational Yoga poses and how to chain them together to build your own personal practice
- Breathwork techniques used to heighten awareness, calm the mind and body and an understanding as to where breathwork can help us manage the stresses of day to day life
- Learn tools and about different types of meditation that you can easily drop into your day to day schedule
WHO IS THIS COURSE REALLY FOR?
This course has been created to inspire those of us ready to learn the foundations of yoga. It is suitable for complete beginners, those of us who have never stepped foot on a mat before. It is also going to benefit you if you already have an understanding of yoga or have been practising for a little while. Perhaps you are in need of a refresher on the basic principles and pillars of the practice, then this course is going to benefit you too.
WILL I GET A GOOD STRETCH?
Yoga is about so much more than getting a good stretch. Yes, you will gain more flexibility from a consistent yoga practice, but I believe, in order to keep us healthy and happy for a long time, we also need to think about our strength and mobility.
Say what now?
Flexibility = our end range of motion, in which we can hold the shape
Mobility = Our ability to move the body from point A to point B or through a range of motion.
Strength = Can be determined by a range of factors, but here we can suggest it is the outcome of maintaining a healthy and active range of motion and ability to hold our body weight
This course will enable you to explore the above 3 pillars of movement to keep you balanced, just like we will explore how to keep body, mind and spirit equally in tune.
WHEN DOES IT ACTUALLY START?
We will begin on Tuesday 3rd February 19:30-20:45 (GMT) // 13:30-14:45 (CST). The classes will be 75 mins long and run for 6 weeks.
While this is a live online course, you will be granted access to our 'STAND SURE' ONLINE PORTAL, where you will have access to recordings of the live classes to work through at your own leisure.
Within this portal, there will also be extra material available to you to help you on this six-week journey.

WHY STAND SURE?
The Motto of the Anderson family clan - which is my last name - is "STAND SURE." Rather poignantly I believe this is something that Yoga has taught and continues to teach me.
The tools of this practice have given me so much, physically, mentally and energetically and I cannot wait to it share it with you.
It is my hope that this course not only helps you physically stand sure - you're going to feel great as yoga works its wonders to undo many physical patterns we hold in our body, often brought about by day to day stresses or habits. (I'm sure we've all found ourselves sitting down way more than we'd care to this past year with lockdown, I know I have!) It also builds a hella lot of strength through static and dynamic movement. - you will also stand sure in your ability to separate from thoughts, finding ways to calm the mind and find peace in the present.
